Peregruzka

Peregruzka
Russian for “overcharged” or “overloaded” – not “reset,” as Hillary Clinton believed.

Described by The New York Times as a “gag gift gone awry,” Hillary Clinton presented Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov with a joke “emergency red button” bearing two labels – “reset” and “peregruzka.” The gift was an allusion to remarks by Vice-President Joseph Biden, who declared it was “time to press the reset button” on Americo-Russian relations.

Asked if the Russian translation was correct, Lavrov replied: “You got it wrong,” explaining that peregruzka means overcharged. According to The Moscow Times, the Russian word for reset is actually perezagruzka.
